Danish Product Development Ltd. (DPD)
Danish Product Development Ltd. (DPD) was founded in 1986 as a private limited company by four researchers from the Technical University of Denmark. The original objective of the company was to design and manufacture advanced ground- and airborne carbon fibre antennas, building on the university know-how within computer aided design, modal analysis, aerotechnology and advanced electromagnetic antenna design.

In 1987 in parallel to the antenna design activities, DPD started to design and build prototype medical equipment for clinic testing and research within occupational medicine and neurology. In 1994 development and production of medical equipment was singled out as the company's future  core business.

It is the objective of DPD to design and manufacture instruments for clinical and scientific purposes within occupational medicine and neurology, based on four key considerations: applicability, quality, technology and price. These four concerns are our primary filtering criterias, when new instruments and programs are designed. So far, they have led to portable equipment, user-friendly programs, easy installation procedures and new sensor technology.

By August 2000, 37 instruments have been produced for coordination ability and tremor testing. All are active in clinical testing and research in USA, Canada, Sweden, Singapore, China, South Africa, Hungary, Poland, Norway, Italy, Ecuador and Denmark. In September 1996, a Sway Analysis Test System was added to the product portefolio. By August 2000 , 10 sway analysis test systems are at work within postural stability analysis. Just to give you an example: app. 500 Danish Golf War veterans have been methodically examined with a full CATSYS test battery.

We keep a close contact to our customers. New designs are developed on the basis of users' feed-back, combined with own knowledge within sensor technology and microprocessors. We also keep a close contact with the scientific environments at the Technical University of Denmark in order to supervise technology and to tap into new knowledge and skills. This concept has proven its value. Danish Product Development Ltd's future is as a niched company, providing medical equipment for doctors and scientists within occupational medicine and neurology.
